Rise of the Planet of the Gibson

So we get to go home today. It is incredibly exciting and freighting. WE ARE IN CHARGE OF A HUMAN!!!!!! WHAT?????? I can only hope that I will be as good a dad as Kathleen is already a mom. It's so obvious how well they have already bonded. I could sit and watch the two of them cuddle for eternity. It has just been the three of us today and it has quite possibly been the best day of my life. We have loved having visitors, but it has been nice to get a glimpse at all of the special moments we will have as the future becomes today. I will try and give a good best of moments recall tomorrow with more pictures, but for now it is nap time. I leave you with one of Kathleen's favorites. -a-

...and still we wait

We are into hour 19 and Kathleen decided to have an epidural.  We both are so tired we are smelling colors and tasting numbers.  When I say we I mean both of me.  I can't imagine how Kathleen must feel.  She has shown the meaning of the words strength and bravery today.  I am very proud to be her husband.  We are going to try and rest now.  They think it is going to be a few more hours.  I will give another update when we wake up.

Still here

At the Hospital

We have been at the hospital since a little after 7am. We are happy to report no need to induce. Kathleen started having regular contractions around midnight.  They're about 2 minutes apart now and becoming more intense.  Everyone is doing great so far.  More updates soon.

So Anytime Now...Well we know the time...

Today we had a doctors appointment and have been given the option to induce on our schedule.  We have chosen tomorrow morning. We are super excited, and a little nervous.  It is kind of weird going from "it could be any moment" to "yep, definitively in the morning".  We will keep everyone informed with the most up to date info we can.  So cross your fingers and tie your shoes, we are going to have a baby tomorrow. We go to the hospital at 7AM!!!!
